About Mommy Makeover Surgery –
Pregnancy, childbirth and nursing can take a negative toll on the body, affecting breasts, tummies, legs and more. These unwanted changes can cause depression, anger, low self-esteem, and can even hinder your sex life. Exercise and healthy eating is always recommended as the first step in trying to get your pre-baby body back, however if you are unable to achieve the result you want, a mommy makeover may be your best option.
While a mommy makeover is a great way to take care of two of the biggest post-pregnancy complaints in one operation, it’s important to remember that combining procedures leads to longer surgery time and potentially a greater risk of complications. You must be in good health, a non-smoker, and have a good support system to help you during recovery.
The Most Common Procedures Performed as Part of the Mommy Makeover Are –
Standard tummy tuck: mini tummy tucks, extended and circumferential are also performed, just not as frequently
Liposuction: abdomen and flanks
Typically surgery will take between 3 and 6 hours depending on the the specific procedures Dr. Hurvitz recommends. It is advised you have a skilled caregiver available at all times for the first couple of days post surgery. If you don’t have anyone available, we can refer you to a nurse service or a recovery facility.
A mommy makeover can be life changing procedure in many ways. Women comment on how they feel attractive, sexy and confident again after having a mommy makeover. And, many of Dr. Hurvitz’s patients comment on how their body looks better than it did before pregnancy!
