RADIESSE® is an FDA-approved dermal filler for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Many of Dr. Keith Hurvitz’s patients come in for RADIESSE® in Long Beach at Hurvitz Plastic Surgery.

Which areas can RADIESSE® treat?

It can be used to improve the following areas:

Smile lines: Also called the nasolabial folds – the lines that run from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth-
Marionette lines: Lines that run downward from the corners of the mouth to the jaw.
Corners of the lips:  When these are turned downward, it can make you look as though you’re frowning
Pre-jowl fold: The area on either side of the chin, where skin can sag due to loss of facial volume
Chin wrinkles: Horizontal lines that can form on your chin and distract from your smile
Jawline and cheeks: Can develop sunken depressions with age
Backs of the hands: Can lose volume over time, resulting in an aged appearance
Acne scars: Small depressions that form in the skin after acne breakouts

What Is RADIESSE® Made Of?

RADIESSE® is the only dermal filler available composed of calcium-based microspheres, and has been shown to stimulate the natural production of collagen, for results that may last up to a year or more in many patients. The calcium microspheres are similar to minerals found naturally in the body so allergy testing is not required. Once injected, RADIESSE® plumps the skin to give the appearance of a smoother surface. Over time, it works to stimulate the body to produce collagen naturally.

The RADIESSE® Treatment Session: What to Expect

RADISSE® is physician-administered in our office as a “walk in, walk out” treatment and typically takes only 15 minutes to administer. Local anesthesia is used to numb the area to any pain or discomfort. A tiny needle is used to inject the filler into the areas being treated.

Aftercare

Once you have gotten your RADIESSE® injections, you will be able to return to your daily activities without any recovery time or downtime required, making it quite convenient. Results are immediate. Some patients may experience bruising or swelling for a few days following treatment. To avoid exacerbating these temporary issues, do not drink or stay in the sun for a prolonged period of time.

How Much Does RADIESSE® Cost?

The cost of RADIESSE® injections is dependent on numerous factors. Its price is affected by the number of areas to be treated, as well as the medical practice you choose for your treatment.
